Jacquie and Mike met on West Green at Ohio University, just outside the entrance to Boyd Dining Hall, in the Winter of 2004. While on his way to eat dinner in Boyd, Mike ran into a friend from Cincinnati- Beth Wiseman (bridesmaid). Accompanying Beth that evening was her roommate Jacquie. Mike remembers this encounter well, having an instant attraction to Jacquie. Mike even told his friends, Alessa Hubbell and Ellie McCaffrey, that he was going to date her someday. Jacquie remembers this chance meeting with Mike as well, but remembers mostly feeling starving for dinner. 

Fast forward one year. Beth and Mike began to hang out more because Mike had a sweet apartment. And because of this, Jacquie was around more often as well. Whether it was hanging out uptown or just in the apartment, Jacquie and Mike were spending a lot of time together. Shortly after a great trip to Cleveland to watch Ohio Men's Basketball beat Buffalo to win the MAC Championship and move on to the NCAA Tournament, Jacquie and Mike started officially dating. But college is college, and being in a relationship on campus isn't the easiest adventure. Jacquie and Mike dated off and on through their years at Ohio University. They had great times and not-so-great times, but they both learned a lot about each other. They graduated in June of 2007. Right next to Grover Hall on campus, Jacquie and Mike shared what could have been their last kiss. Mike's parents said the kiss was "magical". They weren't wrong.

Jacquie and Mike went their separate ways after graduation. Jacquie took on an internship and before long, moved to Columbus to start a career as a child life specialist. Mike moved to Las Vegas just three days after graduation. They talked occasionally by phone, but when Jacquie's Uncle Matt planned a Vegas wedding in April of 2008 she decided it might be time to pay Mike a visit.  It had been 10 months since they'd graduated and had last seen each other. They didn't know it at the time, but this would be the longest they would go without seeing each other. From that point on, Mike and Jacquie would regularly fly back and forth from Ohio and Nevada to visit eah other. In August 2010, Mike moved to Phoenix, AZ for six months for work. When Jacquie visited Mike there in September, they decided to give dating another try. 
By March of 2011, Jacquie and Mike were Facebook official!

After months of planning, Mike flew back to Ohio in October of 2011 to pick up Jacquie and move her to Las Vegas. It was exciting, but difficult for Jacquie to be leaving her family and friends in Ohio. After many tearful good-byes, they packed up Jacquie's Honda Civic with as many of her belongings as possible and Mike, Jacquie, and Daisy the dog started their trek across the country. It took three days, but the ride was smooth. It didn't take long for Jacquie to get acquainted to Las Vegas. She was offered a Child Life Specialist job at a local hospital, Jacquie and Mike joined kickball and softball teams, and Mike acquired a company for which he had previously worked.   

In June of 2012, Jacquie and Mike came back to Ohio to visit Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Athens. In Cleveland, Mike asked Jacquie’s dad for her hand in marriage. In Columbus, he informed Jacquie’s sister of his intentions. And in Cincinnati, Mike picked up his grandmother’s ring from his mother. It had been a long time since Jacquie and Mike had been back at Ohio University together. Jacquie's friends joined them in Athens for the weekend and the whole group planned to take some pictures together on College Green. What Jacquie didn't know was that Mike was actually planning this moment for his proposal and her friends were in on the plan. When the time was right, Mike got down on one knee, expressed his love in trembling tones, and asked her to marry him.

On May 18th. 2013, Jacquie and Mike were married. In front of their family and friends, they spoke their vows and took the plunge! Thank you to everyone who could make it out.
